Welcome to the digital darkroom. A lot has been said about the rights and wrongs of digital photo manipulation and I don’t have much to add to the debate. Most of the images you see on this website do have some post camera processing applied.  In the main these will be area specific changes to values already contained within the digital file. This means that one area of a photo may be made brighter or darker, other areas may have increased contrast, I see this has part of the creative process I cant see any point in limiting myself to the dynamic range of the camera being used, this is not photo journalism after all. Occasionally I may also clone out a small item that I don’t like or that I find out of context but this is rare.

The image on the left is how it came out of the camera. The one on the right has had its vibrancy and contrast levels increased to give the picture more impact.
